The trip to Ten Sleep with almost 1000 miles of traveling required one night’s stay in South Dakota at a location with an accessible room and required roll-in shower. This requirement is for safety and independent self-care. For three weeks prior to the hunt, I practiced at 50, 100, and 150 yds with my 308. In October we captured our experience traveling West from Southwestern Wisconsin to arrive in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. We were graciously welcomed by kind and generous volunteers of the Wyoming Disabled Hunters. We did not know that the landowners offered to have meals ready for the hunting party. (One example of the DWH volunteers and sponsors generosity.) Leslie helped by transporting the elk to the processor and the hide and head to the taxidermist. We traveled the next day to get dry ice, pick up the meat, and start our journey back to Wisconsin. Thank you Leslie and Paintrock Processing Co. Thank you to all of you and to the fabulous Wyoming Disabled Hunters Organization and volunteers! We love their enthusiasm and passion!
