The WY Disabled Hunters are great. I had a good hunting adventure with my companion hunters Neil and Mike, and my wife Dana. We saw deer all over the place, but they knew where to find them. Terry took care of everything, making sure that we had all the paperwork done, picked us up at the airport and taking us back to the airport. All the other volunteers kept us well-fed and cared for. They were all very nice people, and lots of fun.
On the first day of hunting, we saw a lot of deer – does, small bucks, one nice whitetail buck, but it didn’t work out. On the second day we set up early in the dark. When the sun came up, there were deer in front of us – two little bucks were fighting, and then a buck walked by us. Mike spotted a nice buck on the far side. We waited till he got closer. I took a long shot, over 400 yards and missed. The guys were very patient with me. We set up again at 280 yards – I shot and hit him, then all the does got in the way so we had to wait. I shot again and buck was down. We harvested a good nine-point buck. I was the last one to tag out. Some of the other volunteers went and got him, we took pictures, put him in the truck and went back to Bull Moose Retreat to take care of the deer. I want to thank my wife Dana, Neil, Mike and Terry and all of WYOMING Disabled Hunters. THANK YOU!
