4 years ago my life changed forever after being hit by a drunk driver. I had dreamed for years of climbing mountains and hunting big game. With your foundation I have the next best thing! To be able to hunt in Unit 80 in Cody, WY was a dream. With all the history of our nation and never having hunted an antelope before I was so excited. I am so appreciative for the care and God's love that was shown. The owners of the lodge even tiled a roll in shower for the foundation and added a ramp!
We had the pleasure of Lance and Howard guiding us. I laughed all morning at their back-and-forth banter. The beauty of Heart Mountain and chasing these antelope was incredible. We traveled from Michigan, and I honestly did not know what to think. I watched hunting videos on antelope and shot a lot at 400 yards prior to the trip. This eased any uncertainty I had. All of the volunteers were super special and just wanted all the hunters and companions to have the best time. Brian helped debone the antelope after I shot him at 180 yards. We were provided everything necessary to prep the rest of our meat and package it for a freezer prior to the ride home. This was just the most amazing hunting experience ever. It was seamless and so special. We made so many lifelong friends. Cody, WY, is so beautiful, and so are all the people we met.
