My Wyoming Disabled Hunters experience was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported in every way. The one-on-one interaction I received, especially by coming in early, made the trip extra special and allowed me to settle in before the hunt began.
One of the highlights was getting the chance to go to Yellowstone. Being able to explore such a beautiful and iconic place as part of this trip was something I will always treasure. On top of that, harvesting an antelope was an incredible experience. To accomplish that with the help and encouragement of the WDH team and my companion hunters gave me a huge sense of accomplishment and joy.
As a female hunter with a disability, I am especially grateful for this opportunity. If it weren’t for nonprofits like yours, I would never get to experience something like this. You made it possible for me to enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and achieve a dream that otherwise would have felt out of reach.
Everything about the hunt was so well organized—from the lodging and meals to the way the hunts were adapted to fit my needs. Everyone involved, from staff to volunteers, went above and beyond to make sure I had the best possible experience.
This trip gave me not just the excitement of a successful hunt, but also the gift of independence, new friendships, and memories that I’ll carry with me forever. I am so thankful to WDH for creating such meaningful opportunities.
