Chris Farquar – Antelope

Chris Farquar - Antelope 2025

Recently, I enjoyed an exceptional life experience when I was treated to an antelope hunt with the folks at Wyoming Disabled Hunters (WDH). I am a 63-year-old paraplegic individual who has lived for 33 years as a disabled person. In that time, I have had a series of wonderful and inspiring adventures provided by generous teams of individuals serving the disabled community. My experience with WDH was nothing short of incredible and certainly one of the more unique experiences I have had in those 33 years. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported, respected, and genuinely cared for. WDH plans these group events in detail and with an obvious emphasis on and close attention to each disabled hunters’ abilities and their specific needs. My guides for the hunt, Gerry and Bryan, went above and beyond to make sure every part of the hunt was safe, enjoyable, and tailored to my needs. Gerry’s knowledge of the hunting area, and the character of the game was spot on. The two guides worked well as a team and displayed great patience and dedication, making the entire experience unforgettable. I not only walked away with amazing memories but also a renewed sense of confidence and independence. I highly recommend Wyoming Disabled Hunters — and especially Gerry and his faithful assistant Bryan. I can only hope that our paths cross again in the future. One thing I do know for sure is that I will be taking the knowledge I gained with WDH and applying it to future hunts with family and friends every chance I get. Thanks to all the folks at WDH. You guys rock!
