My name is Brent Pendelton and it has always been a dream of mine to come out west and hunt! I have always been an avid hunter and I just knew that one day I would travel to see my dream come true. In March of 2006 I was tragically paralyzed, and I came to the realization that my dream was out of reach. I still hoped that one day I could find a way to hunt out west, my son and I oftentimes would talk about how awesome it would be! I was searching the web one day and ran across Wyoming Disabled Hunters. I immediately applied for a hunting opportunity! It took a few years of applying and then one day I received a call asking if I would like to come and hunt antelope! The opportunity probably could not have come at a worse time as funding was tight and my schedule was hectic but after discussing it with my family we all knew that this would be an opportunity of a lifetime.
My experience was a memory that my son and I will forever cherish. We met some amazing new friends, ate some great food and shared some incredible resources! We were both treated like royalty and, by the way, did I mention that we harvested a big old Wyoming Antelope! Wow and to think you asked me to share some negative aspects of our experience if we encountered any. When you are grinning from ear to ear, it sure is hard to see anything but good! From the airport pick up to the airport drop off you all did everything right! Thank you to everyone that had a hand in making my dreams come true from the Land Owners, companion hunters, cooks, Lodge owners, Board of Directors, volunteers and the amazing people that made donations to this wonderful organization! Your forever friend, Brent Pendleton
