Caleb Gulick – Deer

Caleb Gulick - Deer 2025

I want to start by saying that my time with Wyoming Disabled Hunters was an absolute blast—from the incredible people to the welcoming lodge, everything was outstanding.

Everyone involved was exceptionally helpful and genuinely committed to ensuring we had a great experience. The meals were plentiful and delicious—if you left hungry, it was your own fault! More importantly, the team went out of their way to set up hunting areas that fully accommodated my disability, making the experience accessible and enjoyable.

I was fortunate to have Scott as my guide, and he was truly outstanding. He made sure I had everything I needed, positioned me comfortably, and supported me every step of the way. Thanks to his expertise and care, I was able to harvest a beautiful 5x5 mule deer.

That said, the hunt itself wasn’t even the best part. What made the trip unforgettable was connecting with fellow hunters from across the U.S.—people who, like me, are living full lives and pursuing their passion despite their disabilities. Hearing their stories, sharing laughs, and building real friendships created memories I’ll carry forever.

The volunteers deserve special recognition. You couldn’t ask for a more dedicated, kind-hearted group of people who make this life-changing experience possible year after year.

The lodge itself was very comfortable and accommodating, and the surrounding scenery was breathtaking. I will never forget my time there and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate.

Thank you again to everyone who made this possible.

If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to have a few more suitable vehicle options for getting around to the properties
